Requiem is a series of twelve paintings that investigate inner and aspects of identity and intimacy. The pieces present narratives (or life's early drama’s) that challenge critical thinking around objects of desire, reflection, and individualization. Wanting to explore how body language could be informed by setting, the spaces in which characters occupy are cramped and filled with still life. In developing this series, I wanted to also ask - how well do we know ourselves and the people around us?
Artworks were made possible from the generous support from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.
