About

Allyson Glenn is a visual artist based in Saskatoon, Canada. Her practice takes the form of painting, drawing, and animation. Fascinated by the topics of myth, allegory, the mind, and the environment, her artwork investigates complexities between fictional and experienced realities. In re-examining Greek myths, she explores the role of archetypes, in both storytelling and the creative and unconscious mind. Engaged in inquiry around the imagination, she creates artworks that examine aspects of the mind, constructed realities, speculative realism, and collective transformation. By collaging, amalgamating and layering imagery, her paintings interrupt and de-contextualize the visual language of the original source. Her artwork has been exhibited throughout North America and Europe, as well as in the United Kingdom, India and China. She is an Associate Professor in the School for the Arts, University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
